Cuban Government Initiates Audit

The Cuban government has initiated an audit of 742 companies, 20 percent of the total, in a time marked by denunciations of corruption and by the debate caused by the death of a Chilean businessman associated with one of the cases.

The audit starts under the direction of the Controller General of Cuba, who over a period of months will inspect without prior warning the workings of the 742 entities in all the economic, productive and service sectors of Cuba.
