Exiled Cuban Artists are in Havana: Rolando Diaz and Reinaldo Miravalles

Underway in the city of Havana is the Ninth Exhibition of Young Directors, where they will present their documentaries, some controversial and critical of the Cuban regime. Today I learned that in the afternoon a filmmaker exiled to the Canary Islands, Rolando Diaz (Brother of Jesus Diaz) presented the film in Havana, “Closeness” with the participation of actor Reynaldo Miravalles, an exile who also came to the presentation. I remember as a child that these filmmakers and actors who called him “scum” for leaving the country, now come as a distinguished guest of the Republic and are welcomed as butterflies, they are no longer the “worms” who left.
